Hi there! Thank you so much for checking out my review policy! I really appreciate you taking the time to find out my reading preferences!
What can you expect from my reviews
Before you take the time to read my review policy I want you to understand that I read for enjoyment, for entertainment. I am not interested in writing a review full of carefully thought out literary criticism. I want reading to be fun, and my reviews fun to read and most importantly completely honest.
My reviews mostly consist of my thoughts and feelings, and therefore they are mostly subjective. If you are looking for an objective review I highly recommend that you go somewhere else, there are lots of reviewers out there that write objective and analytical reviews and I advise you to seek them out.
My reviews are above all, one hundred percent me, and therefore completely honest. I do not write ‘glowing’ reviews because you sent them to me for free. If I don’t like a book, I won’t be afraid to say so, I will give my reasons and arguments for not liking it. I don’t insult. That’s not my style.
My reviews include cover art, a synopsis of the novel*, a numbered rating, publication details and of course my personal thoughts about the book. I also post my reviews on Goodreads, as well as share them on my Facebook and Twitter page.
* All summaries/synopses are taken from Amazon.com, Goodreads.com, or the publisher’s website.
I am open to receiving ARCs and Review Copies of books
I do accept eBooks. However, I do feel the need to mention that I prefer physical books over eBooks. I don’t always accept eBooks simply because a physical book just reads easier and, most of the time, it results in a faster review. If you are interested and want me to review a book for you, just fill out the contact form below and I will answer you as soon as possible.
I you decide to contact me about reviewing a book, I do ask that you please include the summary, the release date, and a picture of the cover. Any links to further information would be appreciated as well!
Types of books I accept
You can check out the list of reviews by author, or by genre to see what genres I have reviewed before. The main genre I review is YA, but I review Adult fiction as well and I will accept anything that sounds promising to me.
YA genres I prefer:
- Contemporary Fiction
- Science Fiction
Aside from the YA genre I accept Young Adult, Adult Fiction or Literary Fiction in any of the following genres: Mystery/Thriller, Chick-lit, Romance, Historical Romance, Historical Fiction, Paranormal Romance, and Contemporary Romance.
I do not usually accept:
- Titles with religious undertones
I put emphasis on usually, because if you check my list of Reviews you will find some of these genres included. As I said before, I will accept books that sound promising to me.
Series: I do not prefer to read a series out of sequence. If you have a review request that is part of a series I have not read, I do ask that you provide a copy of each of it’s predecessors. This will allow for a more effective review. (Of course this will not be necessary if I have read or own the predecessors myself).
When I accept a book to review:
It does not guarantee that the novel will be read, or that I will post a review.
Novels that I request personally will have precedence over all other titles. Second precedence will go to those novels that were accepted via a review request/pitch. Novels that are received unsolicited will mostly likely go last, it will depend on my reading schedule and interest, as to whether the title will be read and reviewed. If I have no interested in reading the title, it will be passed along to another blogger or donated.
How long will it take for a review: I try to read the review titles that I receive in a timely manner but I do have time constraints. If the book is an ARC, I will try to review the book in the month surrounding its release date, in most cases before the book is released or shortly after.
I am happy to host author interviews, giveaways, and other promotional events. If you are interested in doing an author interview, I do request that a copy of your novel be sent with ample time to read before the questions need to be submitted. If I am not familiar with your work/with the authors work, I do require the option to read the title before I will agree to an interview or a guest post.
I am also open to do a guest blog. Just contact me by sending me an email and I’ll answer as soon as possible.
