A Personal Drama of Shattered Dreams and Second Chances
A talented runner fully committed to Olympic dreams, Sabrina Rice's future was shattered by a devastating diagnosis. One forfeited scholarship and several years later, she has new goals and dreams that have nothing to do with running--something that's become far too painful to think on.
Until the day she sees Brandy Philip running across the community college campus, easily outpacing security. Sabrina immediately recognizes world-class speed, and it's all the more painful that it belongs to a teenage graffiti artist. When a chance encounter brings the two young women together, Sabrina becomes Brandy's best hope for staying out of juvenile hall. Soon, Sabrina begins to feel an uncomfortable nudge that her new life is just about to be toppled...
I normally don’t really read Christian books, simply because I am not religious. However, when I read the synopsis I found that I was persuaded enough to read this book.
It already says so in the synopsis that this book is about Shattered Dreams and Second Chances. It’s what persuaded me to read Chasing Hope and it’s exactly what made me appreciate it so much. Sabrina Rice is a great character really, as is Brandy Philip whom you grow to love. I have so much respect for Sabrina’s mentality and personality after all she has lost. She just never gives up and keeps going, for her own and her families sake. The influence she has on Brandy is a process that is beautiful to read.
This book will speak to anyone who have struggled to get back on their feet after they find a dream crushed. It is a beautiful and inspiring tale about going on and finding love. A typical case of don’t judge a book by it’s cover for me personally!
