Top Ten Tuesday2Top Ten Covers I wish I could Redesign

Top Ten Tuesday is a weekly meme created by the Broke and Bookish.

As you all can imagine, I just love a good book with a gorgeous cover. So as I was scanning my bookshelves for books with covers I don’t like that much and could use a little bit of redesigning, I found few. Then I went ahead and went through my digital galley and I didn’t find a lot, but enough to fill this weeks Top Ten Tuesday with! I don’t even particularly dislike the following covers, it is more that there are little things that I don’t like or think don’t look great.  It has absolutely nothing to do with the content of the books!

covers redesignI only recently read this book, and I really enjoyed it! The cover though… While it isn’t bad, it just doesn’t really pull me in. I don’t have this problem with the other covers in this series!

1. Dare You To by Katie McGarry

I love Lauren Oliver! She’s a great writer, descriptive and vivid. This cover I don’t like… the look on the girls face is a bit creepy. It’s not for nothing that I have the UK edition on my shelves!

2. Pandemonium by Lauren Oliver

I actually haven’t read this book yet! While I love the vividness of the colors in this cover, that’s about all of it…

3. Alienated by Melissa Landers

Loved this book! The US edition looks great, but by accident I ordered the wrong copy and got the UK edition instead. It looks horrible and fake in my opinion. I mean, just look at the girl’s face, or the boy’s face for that matter.

4. Under the Never Sky by Veronica Rossi

I might have mentioned this book during this years Halloween Top Ten Tuesday… It just looks freaky and honestly (I don’t say this much!) prefer the movie edition.

5. Never Let Me Go by Kazuo Ishiguro

I read this book a long time ago! I love wolves, and I love badass girls, but this cover is just wrong…

6. Nightshade by Andrea Cremer

covers redesigYeah, am I the only one to think that this cover is a bit weird and doesn’t really fit the whole Vampire and Werewolf (excuse my language: Shape shifter) theme.

7. Breaking Dawn by Stephenie Meyer

I just don’t like this cover… to be honest I haven’t read it yet either, but the cover just doesn’t do anything for me. A bit boring actually.

8. The Casual Vacancy by J.K. Rowling

While I love this series, at first I did like this cover, but the only thing you see is a bare-chested guy! I mean, the I get that you’re supposed to see the Rhunes and all, but can I at least see the guy’s head?

I don’t know what kind of cover would be better, but at least something different than the one displayed above!
